As part of our businesses Neenah Paper also operates a kraft pulp mill, in Pictou, Nova Scotia along with their related timberlands. This mill produces more than 260,000 metric tons of pulp per year.
Pictou has invested in current technologies, with a modern bleach plant producing 100% elemental chlorine free (ECF) pulp.
The supporting forestry operations in a sustainable framework which follows all applicable regulations and codes of practice. The woodlands harvesting operations use the latest in forest management technology and practices to ensure an efficient and productive operation.

Pictou mill began production in 1967 and is comprised of a single-line pulp facility, which primarily produces softwood pulp. The Pictou pulp mill is supported by its timberlands operations that provides a secure, low cost fiber supply. The Pictou timberland also supports a tree nursery that produces seedlings for reforestation.
