(July 31, 2009) - Neenah Paper's HEIRLOOM® Wood Veneer Backers and Laminating Substrates are impregnated papers used as laminating bases for a variety of end uses in the furniture and wood products industry. They are designed to facilitate the production of the furniture item, enhance other elements used in the manufacturing process and result in a better quality final piece.
HEIRLOOM® Wood Veneer Backers and Laminating Substrates can be used for such purposes as backing flexible veneer, cross-banding exotic veneer for panel faces and reinforcing edgebanding and decorative paper. The latex saturated and/or coated backers are cost effective and high performing. Many of them provide high strength and durability while others offer flexibility and stiffness depending on the usage required.

- Veneer Backers for Contours on Combination Faces – applied to furniture or table face areas rather than edges

- Decorative Overlay Lamination – designed to reinforce thin decorative papers (foils) used in the manufacture of ready-to-assemble furniture
- Cross-Banding – designed to stabilize exotic veneers on panel and furniture faces

GREENGUARD performance based standards define products with low chemical and particle emissions for use indoors such as building materials, furnishings, furniture and cleaning and maintenance products. The FSC Trademark identifies products which contain wood from well-managed forests certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council.
